With an interest in geriatric bone health, she also developed the Carolinas Medical Center’s first Outpatient Fragility Fracture Care Program to identify and treat elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures.
To stay up to date in her field, she remains a professional member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Orthopedic Research Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Additionally she has been awarded the American Orthopedic Association-Zimmer Resident Research Award and the CMC Outstanding Clinical Research Award, Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society Academic Traveling Fellowship Award, the American Orthopedic Association Career Development Award, the AOA North American Traveling Fellowship, and the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation/American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Research Grant in Adult Reconstruction.
