A quadruple board-certified neurologist, Dr. Bahreman is the President of The Neurological and Pain Institute, Inc. in La Mesa, California. His mission is to improve the health and well-being of his patients by delivering compassionate and personalized holistic treatment.
In his private practice, he treats patients with traumatic brain injury, post traumatic headache disorders, migraines, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), neuralgias, seizures, musculoskeletal diseases, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic spinal disease and peripheral nerve injuries. Back in 1993, Dr. Bahreman graduated with his medical degree from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He then relocated to the United States, completing his residency in neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2000.
During his residency at Montefiore Hospital, he developed additional expertise in headache disorders, stroke, and neuromuscular diseases. Because of the unique location of Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, he was exposed to a wide variety of neurological pathologies, including traumatic brain injury. He treated patients with traumatic brain injury, spine injury, and neuromuscular disorders. In his last year of his residency, he had the privilege of directly working with Dr. Richard Lipton and Dr. Lawrence Newman, world renowned headache experts, which has led to his expertise in diagnosing and managing post traumatic headache disorders and migraines associated with traumatic brain injury.
Following his residency, Dr. Bahreman entered the fellowship program in neuromuscular disorders at University of Chicago. He became skilled in electrodiagnostics including electroencephalography, electromyography, and nerve conduction studies.
Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined a local private neurology group and in 2008, he moved to San Diego where he started his own solo practice. Since he finished his official fellowship, he has received additional training, and become certified in various areas such as video nystagmography, posturography, Botox and spasticity, and antiaging medicine.
A member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the doctor is board-certified in general neurology, brain injury medicine, clinical neurophysiology, and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

His expertise has been used by plaintiff and defense attorneys in a variety of neurological cases including TBI, CRPS, and peripheral nerve injuries. In 2017, he testified in a class action lawsuit against Bristol Myers and their drug Plavix. He currently performs and offers a variety of neurological studies that are commonly used in medical legal cases including: electromyography and nerve conduction study, routine electroencephalogram, quantitative EEG with focus on traumatic brain injury, videonystagmography, posturography and balance evaluation, and computerized online neuropsychological assessment.
