Dr. Amit Patel is a highly skilled board-certified nephrologist and internist. He has practiced in a variety of settings including in academic medicine, Department of Veterans Affairs and in the private sector.
Dr. Patel maintains an active practice in both disciplines of nephrology and internal medicine. He provides expert nephrology services via telehealth in partnership with Access TeleCare, LLC to a range of critical access hospitals nationwide.
With a strong academic background, Dr. Patel has recently been appointed internal medicine residency program director with Prime Healthcare St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City. In this role he is able to mentor and train the next generation of physicians for future practice. He holds an academic appointment with Prime Healthcare’s affiliated medical school California University of Science and Medicine.
A distinguished alumnus of the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine, Dr. Patel completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in nephrology at the same institution, culminating in 2010. His dual board certifications in internal medicine and nephrology, along with his Diplomate status from the American Board of Internal Medicine, attest to his dedication to maintaining the highest standards of care for his patients.
As an active member of the American Society of Nephrology, Dr. Patel remains at the forefront of advancements in nephrology, ensuring that his patients receive the most current and effective treatments available.
