He is the author of over 20 published articles and the recipient of several honors, including Chairman of Medical Staff at Weiss Hospital (2007-2011), President of the Medical Staff at Weiss Hospital (2011-2015), Physician of the Year from Weiss Hospital (2005) and Teacher of the Year from the University of Chicago (1991). Dr. Sheikh is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He believes that he owes his success to family support, his wife and children’s support and encouragement, and his older sister who was very motivating for him. When he is not practicing, Dr. Sheikh enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
