After completing her residency training, she embarked on a fellowship in glaucoma at the prestigious Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she earned the coveted ‘Fellow of the Year’ award.
Remaining up to date in her field, she is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery and the American Medical Association.
In her professional experience, Dr. Mehta was elected onto the Board of New York State Ophthalmological Society, as well as appointed to the American Glaucoma Society Committee on Patient Engagement. Additionally, she teaches the next generation of residents at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Active in glaucoma research, she has co-authored numerous articles in national and international medical journals. Recently, she was the recipient of the Super Doctors Rising Star Award.

Outside of ophthalmology Dr. Mehta enjoys spending time with her family, and is an avid runner, having run in numerous New York City and Chicago Marathons.
