Dr. Kramer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in pediatric orthopedics. She is in practice with Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, seeing patients at the offices in Des Plaines, Highland Park, and Morton Grove, Illinois. 

There, she provides treatments for all the major congenital disorders, including hip dysplasia, club feet, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and down syndrome. She also provides care for scoliosis and traumatic injuries, and offers the most up to date surgical and clinical techniques, including the latest in fracture fixation and bracing.

She is also the Director of the Pediatric Orthopedic Center of Excellence at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Kramer graduated with her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 1993. She then went on to serve her internship in general surgery and her residency in orthopedic surgery at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. She followed up with a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Salt Lake City.

The doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Kramer is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Chicago Medical Society, and the Illinois Society of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Pediatric orthopedic surgeons diagnose, treat, and manage children’s musculoskeletal problems including the following: limb and spine deformities (such as clubfoot, scoliosis), gait abnormalities (limping), as well as bone and joint infections.

A frequent lecturer, Dr. Kramer conducts lectures for courses presented by the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America. Currently, she is conducting research in the use of a brace instead of a cast when treating femur (thigh bone) fractures in newborn to five-year-old children, a technique that spares the patient from needing surgery.
