Andrew, a Utah native, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner & advanced registered nurse practitioner with nursing experience in long-term memory care, oncology, and ambulatory care. He is currently a part of the provider team at Family HealthCare Network, a nonprofit community-based organization based in Visalia, California that operates 39 sites, 34 of which are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) throughout Tulare, Kings, and Fresno Counties.

Prior to his current endeavors, Andrew served as a travel registered nurse in a clinical nurse coordinator role at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. He also has experience as a student nurse practitioner trainee at a variety of clinical sites throughout Washington state, including the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, as a student research assistant at the University of Washington School of Nursing, as a registered nurse at Huntsman Cancer Hospital and University of Utah Healthcare, and as a licensed practical nurse at Silverado Care, among others.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Andrew completed his Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies at Snow College in 2010 and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Westminster College, in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2014. Years later, in 2019, he earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

A family nurse practitioner (FNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse who works autonomously or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to deliver family-focused care. Given the rather broad nature of the “family” patient population focus, FNPs offer a wide range of healthcare services that revolve around the family unit; from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan.

An advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) is a nurse with postgraduate education in nursing. ARNPs can have primary responsibility for patient care. They practice independently to limited supervision depending on state regulations and also may work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Additional ARNP roles include certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified nurse midwives.

On a more personal note, Andrew is both a husband and father. He is a pianist/organist, singer, amateur cyclist, and scouter.
