Dr. Lampkins career began after she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1983 from Tulane University with a specialty in Anesthesiology. During her time at Tulane University she secured the Outstanding Young Women of America Award in 1983 and was also a distinguished member of Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Lampkins also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at West Virginia University Health Science Center in 1989.
After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree, Dr. Lampkins completed her Pediatrics Internship, Anesthesiology Residency and her Anesthesiology Fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital. Upon her many achievements, Dr. Lampkins is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. The requirements specifically for candidates who seek board certification include (but are not limited to): A completed Anesthesiology application, completion of an ACGME-accredited PGY-1 program or an AOA-accredited internship, completion of ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency in Anesthesiology, at least two years in private Anesthesiology practice (waived for those completing fellowship training post-residency), and documented completion of at least 30 hours of CME in Anesthesia during the preceding two years.
To stay up to date with the most advanced technology, Dr. Lampkins is a professional member with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Missouri Society of Anesthesiologists and St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society. Furthermore, Dr. Lampkins is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr. Lampkins attributes her professional success to her pediatrician growing up Dr. John Brierre, as well as her father Ernest Lampkins, PhD who always encouraged her to chase her dreams.
