Dr. Arthur is a triple board-certified interventional cardiologist at Carolina Heart and Vascular Center, seeing patients at the main location and southside location in Aiken, South Carolina. 

Treating adults 21-65 and older adults over the age of 65, he specializes in the treatment of patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including but not limited to: cerebrovascular disease, carotid stents, peripheral vascular disease, iliac, renal, aortic stent grafts, coronary artery disease, coronary angioplasty and stenting, phlebology, venous ablation, and micro embolectomy. His general cardiology interests include stress testing, pacemaker therapy, and preventive cardiology. Dr Arthur also completed a residency in Pediatrics and does evaluate  adolescents with cardiac problems.

Back in 1987, Dr. Arthur graduated with his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine & pediatrics at Bridgeport Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospitals in 1991, followed by his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Brown University Affiliated Hospitals in 1994.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and the National Board Of Physicians. To become board certified physicians must pass  rigorous examinations in each subspecialty, and maintain certification through recurrent testing, and participation in ongoing educational activities. This ensures that your physician achieving board certification is up to date on the newest treatment modalities. 

Practicing medicine in South Carolina, Dr. Arthur is affiliated with Carolina Heart and Vascular  Center and Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Interventional cardiology is the subspecialty of cardiology that uses specialized catheter-based techniques to diagnose and treat coronary artery disease, vascular disease, structural heart disease, and congenital heart defects. An interventional cardiologist is a cardiologist with one to two years of additional education and training in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease as well as congenital (present at birth) and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.

On a more personal note, Dr Arthur is an avid pilot having both a private pilot’s license and instrument rating. He enjoys flying both for business and pleasure
