In 1994, Metro Infectious Disease Consultants (MIDS) was established with eight infectious disease physicians working in the Chicago area. Regarding his educational background, Dr. Ognjan has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and pharmacy from Michigan State University / Ferris State College. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1983. He followed up with an internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in infectious diseases at Henry Ford Hospital, completing his training in 1989.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in infectious disease and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.
Licensed to practice medicine in Michigan, Dr. Ognjan has medical privileges at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital – Clinton Township and McLaren Macomb Hospital.
