Get to know Urologist Dr. Anthony Saracino, who serves patients in West Melbourne, Florida.

Recognized as a skilled urologist, Dr. Saracino is in practice with the Urology Center of Brevard in West Melbourne, Florida. His interests include urologic cancer, impotence, urinary incontinence, and minimal invasive treatments for benign and malignant urological conditions, including microwave treatment and laparoscopic urological surgery.

Locally, he is affiliated with Melbourne Regional Medical Center, Holmes Regional Medical Center, Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital, Health First’s Palm Bay Hospital, and Rockledge Regional Medical Center.

Having grown up in Rye, New York, Dr. Saracino attended the State University of New York at Albany where he graduated Cum Laude in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Minor in Linguistics. He received his medical degree from the School of Medicine and Surgery at the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy where he graduated Cum Laude in 1984. There, he defended his thesis on “Cancer of the Esophagus and its Surgical Treatment”. 

After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in general surgery at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital in New York in 1987, his residency in pediatric urology at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1990, and his residency in urology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire in 1991.

In his professional experience, Dr. Saracino was an attending in urology at the Roger Williams Hospital Medical Center and Rhode Island Hospital of Brown University Medical School. He also acted as a clinical instructor in the Department of Surgery (Urology) at the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine from 1993 through 1998. Prior to his relocation to Melbourne in 1998, he was in private practice in Bridgton, Norway, and Portland, Maine for 6 years.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), he is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care. 

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, prostate, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands. 

Among Dr. Saracino’s most notable achievements include Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2020), On-Time Doctor Award (2020), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020).

Happily married, he and his wife Lisa live in Satellite Beach. They enjoy numerous activities as well as traveling and spending time with their families and friends.
