Before embarking on his professional journey, he received his undergraduate degree in Foreign Languages at The Citadel Military College in Charleston, South Carolina and served in the United States Army. He then attended the University of Texas Graduate School and received a graduate degree in immunochemistry and then earned his medical degree from the University of Texas in Galveston.
While he was in medical school, Dr. Miller III was greatly influenced by the chairman of the department of plastic surgery, Dr. Truman Blocker, whose high principles and ethics refocused his dedication. He went on to complete his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in plastic surgery at Bowman Gray Medical Center at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (FASAPS), and Fellow of the American Society of Pediatric Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons (FASPPRS).
Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Miller III is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, the Tulsa County Medical Association, the Tulsa Surgical Society, the Plastic Surgery Society of Oklahoma, the Plastic Surgery Society of Tulsa, the National Breast Cancer Reconstruction Committee, the Oklahoma Oncology Society, and the Cancer National Standards Group.
