With the aim to provide integrated and value-based healthcare, Dr. Desai established his private practice – Desai Medical Group & Behavioral Health – in 2021. The core principle at the practice is to adopt a “whole person care” approach by integrating primary care and behavioral health.
Born in a family with strong roots to the field of medicine, he wanted to be a physician from a very young age. He spent his childhood traveling between the United States and India, graduating high school and finishing medical school from India.
After completing medical school, Dr. Desai moved to the United States with a goal of pursuing his career as a physician in 2012. He finished his internship and residency in internal medicine at the San Joaquin General Hospital in 2017, before going on to work as an independent provider with a primary care group based in Redlands and as a part-time hospitalist with Dignity Health in San Bernardino from 2017-2021.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in Internal Medicine are called Internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
When he is not working, Dr. Desai likes spending time with his family, reading, watching movies, traveling and exploring new places.
