Arlene is a registered nurse who is retired from practice. During her active years on the job, she served patients in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

In her professional experience, she served as a National Account Manager for a pharmacy automation company. She currently serves on the Washington Hospital Board of Directors, and serves as a volunteer at this hospital.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Arlene obtained her high school diploma from Mckeesport Area Senior High School in 1965, followed by her nursing degree from Presbyterian Hospital in 1968. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1981, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from the same educational venue in 1986. 

A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up. 

On a more personal note, Arlene is married. She is a member of the American Orchid Society, which is a horticultural society for education, conservation, and research of orchids.
