As owner and Medical Director of Hernandez Pediatrics, Dr. Arturo Alejandro Hernandez takes pride in his practice’s slogan; “Every Child Will Be Seen!” His office offers complete Pediatric care from birth to 21 years of age. Everything from wellness exams to sick visits and vaccines are offered at this Medical Home!
Dr. Hernandez has practiced in his home city of El Paso for twenty years! He is a local graduate of Riverside High School and a 1994 graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso and a class of 2000 graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. He completed his Pediatric Residency in 2004 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas, where he was honored to serve as Chief Resident in his final year of Residency. Dr Hernandez continued on and served as Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at TTUHSC-El Paso until his departure in 2010 into solo practice at his namesake Hernandez Pediatrics!
The services offered at Hernandez Pediatrics encompass all aspects of Pediatric care. From state mandated wellness visits and vaccines, to sick visits and pre-participation sports exams, run the gamut of offerings. Dr. Hernandez takes pride in caring for every child and every aspect of their care. He welcomes the intricate and complex care of children with Autism, ADHD and other chronic developmental issues that other doctors may shy away from!
Combining his love for patient care and education has led to great collaborations in precepting nurse practitioner students from Walden University, the University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing and the University of Texas at El Paso School of Nursing. High school and undergraduate college/university students may also be seen shadowing Dr. Hernandez at times while visiting the Clinic.
Dr. Hernandez’s professional and community affiliations include hospital privileges at The Hospitals of Providence – Providence Campus, and memberships in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Texas Pediatric Society, El Paso Pediatrics Society, and the Texas Medical Association. He has served as Del Sol Medical Center’s Pediatric Department Chair as well as President of the St. Pius X Catholic School’s Advisory Board.
When Dr. Hernandez is not at the office or on rounds, he spends his free time devoted to his wife of thirty years and their five children. Dr. Hernandez proclaims; “With all of my life’s experiences, both professional and personal, rest assured that you are leaving your children’s health in the best hands!”
