The doctor’s Ivy League education began at Harvard University, where he earned his medical degree in 1995. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Hospital of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

To further his expertise in the study of surgical and medical retina, Dr. Pollack completed a prestigious two-year San Francisco retina fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center, in conjunction with the Schatz practice. This fellowship was instrumental in developing his advanced knowledge and skills regarding modern vitreoretinal surgical concepts and techniques, as well as exposing him to all aspects of medical retina, including retinal vascular disease, choroidal vascular disease, and uveitis.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmologists (FAAO), and an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Active in academia, Dr. Pollack serves as a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at New York University. He is also a member of the Eye Trauma Service of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he trains residents and fellows in the latest techniques of vitreous and retina surgery.

One of the first ophthalmologists in New York City to implement and teach 25-gauge or small incision vitreoretinal surgery for complex retinal detachments, he was recognized by Research to Prevent Blindness, Inc. as an ophthalmological associate for his contributions to the advancement of eye research and disease investigation. He has published articles in major academic journals.
