Dr. Bartlik received her undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford in 1977, and her M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1981, where she studied neurology with the late Dr. Oliver Sacks. She completed her psychiatry residency and research fellowship at New York University Medical Center / Bellevue Hospital (now NYU Langone Health), and went on to become an associate in the practice of the late pioneering sex therapist, Helen Singer Kaplan, M.D. She also treated severely mentally ill patients at Manhattan and Rockland Psychiatric Centers, New York State Office of Mental Health.  Dr. Bartlik is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds additional certifications in integrative medicine from the American Board of Physician Specialties and in sexology from the American Board of Sexology. In 2019 she was named a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and was recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors.          

Dr. Bartlik has published numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters, and is a co-editor and an author of Integrative Sexual Health (2018), a volume in the [Dr. Andrew] Weil Integrative Medicine Library, published by Oxford University Press. Dr. Bartlik currently practices in her private offices in Manhattan, Westchester, and Long Island, and also conducts telehealth sessions. She is a member of the voluntary faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College and the voluntary staff at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital / Northwell Health.
