Dr. Barbara Bartlik has over three decades of experience and training in medicine, with specialization in integrative medicine and psychiatry. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford in 1977, and her M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in 1981, where she studied neurology with Dr. Oliver Sacks. She completed her psychiatry residency and research fellowship at New York University Medical Center / Bellevue Hospital (now NYU Langone Health).  

Dr. Bartlik is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds additional certifications in integrative medicine from the American Board of Physician Specialties and sexual medicine from the American Board of Sexology. She was named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in 2019. Dr. Bartlik has published numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters, and is a co-editor and an author of Integrative Sexual Health (2018), the newest groundbreaking volume in the [Dr. Andrew] Weil Integrative Medicine Library, published by Oxford University Press.

Dr. Bartlik currently practices in her private offices in Manhattan, Westchester, and Long Island. She is a member of the voluntary faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College and the voluntary staff at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital / Northwell Health. She has expertise in treating women, men, and couples with emotional and relationship problems, sexual dysfunction, weight management concerns, and matters of general health and wellness.

Dr. Bartlik’s additional areas of professional interest and expertise include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dementia, premenstrual and menopausal concerns, postpartum issues, erectile disorder, low sexual desire, painful sex, orgasm difficulties, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, headache, and insomnia.
