Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Dr. Firstenberg has been serving as the Medical Director at Arlington Cancer Center – Trophy Club since 1987. He is also affiliated with Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington, Medical City Las Colinas, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Baylor Scott and White Medical Center-Trophy Club, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, Medical City North Hills, and Baylor Scott and White Medical Center–Grapevine.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the Tarrant County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, the Texas Regional Oncology Group, and the Texas Society of Internal Medicine.
