Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Gleimer graduated from Case Western Reserve University with the honors of magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He received his medical training at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Kennedy Memorial Hospital System. He then underwent additional training in hand surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.

Following his education, he attained board certification in orthopedic surgery through the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS). The AOBOS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
