Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Beatriz Esayag-Tendler, who serves patients in Farmington, Connecticut.

Dr. Esayag-Tendler is board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) has stood for the highest standard in internal medicine and its 20 subspecialties. Certification has meant that internists have demonstrated – to their peers and to the public – that they have the clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent patient care.

She holds professional memberships with the American Medical Association, the American Thyroid Association and The Endocrine Society.

She was  President of the Connecticut Endocrine Society from 2012 to 2016 and was a member  of the American Thyroid Association Ethics Committee from 2012-2016.

Dr. Esayag-Tendler is an Associate Professor of Medicine, and sees patients in the Endocrine Neoplasia Clinic taking care of patients with thyroid cancer, multiple endocrine neoplasia, and also in sees patients with endocrine related hypertension. She has been practicing there since 1994.

Dr. Esayag-Tendler received her medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela. Thereafter, she worked for one year in the Amazon jungle and in underserved areas in the outskirts of Caracas.

She completed her medical residence in Michael Reese in Chicago and fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Endocrinology is the subspecialty of internal medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and care of disorders of the endocrine (glandular) system and the associated metabolic dysfunction. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Esayag-Tendler specializes in the management of various endocrine disorders, including endocrine tumors. Her clinical interests include taking care of patients with thyroid cancer, patients with paragangliomas and patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia.

Dr. Esayag-Tendler has received several awards for her clinical expertise, including a Patients’ Choice Award for Most Compassionate Doctor in 2010 and a Humanitarian Award from Michael Reese Hospital in 1992 and UCONN’s Women’s Inspiring Possibilities. She attributes her success to her education, her passion for the medical field, her devotion to patient care, as well as her family values. Dr. Esayag-Tendler considers it is a privilege to participate in the care of patients.
