Bijal M. Rana, a distinguished healthcare professional with extensive expertise in cardiac and geriatric nursing, continues to make a profound impact in the medical field. With a career spanning over two decades, Rana has demonstrated exceptional leadership, patient advocacy, and clinical excellence, driving advancements in cardiovascular care and enhancing patient outcomes.
Rana currently serves as a Clinical Coordinator for Interventional Cardiology in the Cardiac Cath Lab and moonlights as an Administrative Nursing Supervisor at Hunterdon Health. In this role, she has played a key part in achieving the American College of Cardiology’s Cardiac Cath Lab with PCI Accreditation, a significant milestone that underscores her commitment to quality and excellence in patient care. She has also led multidisciplinary teams, implemented process improvements, and ensured adherence to Joint Commission standards.
Throughout her career, Rana has excelled in various leadership roles, including serving as a Cardiac Cath Lab RN and a Cardiovascular Service Quality Coordinator. Her expertise extends to advanced cardiac procedures such as diagnostic catheterization, elective PCI, peripheral angioplasty, pacemaker implants, and emergency interventions for acute myocardial infarctions (Code MI). She has also been actively involved in research, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with national benchmarks and enhancing overall patient care standards.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Rana is dedicated to educating and mentoring the next generation of nurses. As an adjunct clinical instructor at Lincoln Technical Institute, she has provided hands-on training and critical thinking exercises to nursing students, preparing them for real-world clinical practice. She holds a Master’s in Nursing Leadership from Kean University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of New Jersey, and an RN Diploma from Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing.
