From there, she enrolled in a 9-year MD/PhD program, earning her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Immunology at Rockefeller University. She completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in infectious disease at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

As a testament of her continued education, the doctor is board-certified in infectious disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In her professional experience, she served as an attending infectious disease physician at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and Holyoke Health Center, before joining the team at Mazzoni Center.

Infectious disease is a medical specialty dealing with the prevention, the diagnosis, and the treatment of all infections. An infectious disease specialist’s practice also consists of managing nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections.
