As for his academic position, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
A native Texan and Houstonian, Dr. Hartline obtained his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the Caribbean in 2012. He then went on to perform his residency in orthopedic surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and his fellowship in adult reconstruction (total joint replacement) at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to his surgical training, Dr. Hartline was involved in orthopedic clinical and patient outcome-based research. He completed two post-doctoral research years in orthopedic research. These years in research molded his focus on patient outcomes and guiding treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
With a commitment to excellence, he is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Continuing to be active in research activities to further improve the orthopedic profession, Dr. Hartline is an active member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
