Dr. Ludwig is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon at OrthoGeorgia, seeing patients at the offices in Warner Robins, Georgia. His special interests are athletic injuries, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee, fracture care, and total joint reconstruction (knee, hip, and shoulder).

He covers sporting events and provides athletic screenings for high school and college athletes, and is the team physician for Mercer University’s baseball program, Middle Georgia State University, and Fort Valley State University. 

In direct affiliation with his industry, he is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Georgia Orthopaedic Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Bibb County Medical Society.

Back in 2004, Dr. Ludwig graduated with his medical degree from Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He then completed a residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics – Madison, and a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute under the direction of Dr. James Andrews. 

Certified to perform Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery (MAKO) for resurfacing of the knee, he is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Ludwig has authored multiple orthopaedic book chapters and medical journal articles. He also enjoys presenting at medical conferences.

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
