Brian is a registered nurse first assistant who is currently serving patients at Ohio Valley Medical Center, a 200-bed health care facility located in the heart of downtown Wheeling, West Virginia. Brian earned his nursing degree from West Virginia Northern Community College in 1989. He then went on to earn his associate’s degree in nursing from the same college in 1995. Additionally, Brian is certified in basic life support.

A registered nurse first assistant (RNFA) is a perioperative registered nurse who functions in an expanded role or an advanced practice registered nurse functioning as a first assistant. The RNFA practices expanded perioperative nursing by providing assistance to the surgeon and surgical team to facilitate quality care of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
