For nearly two years, Elise Zbar has served as the Risk Manager at Keller Army Community Hospital, where she has been instrumental in rebuilding and strengthening the hospital’s risk management program. With an extensive background in nursing, public health, and patient safety, Elise has dedicated her career to improving healthcare quality and ensuring a safe, responsive medical environment for the West Point community.
Her journey in healthcare began as a pediatric nurse, where she developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care. Recognizing the broader impact she could have on healthcare systems, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2018, followed by a Postgraduate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in December 2024.
Throughout her career, Elise has been a champion for public health and infectious disease prevention. Before stepping into risk management, she served as a Public Health Nurse at Keller Army Community Hospital from 2014 to 2023, where she led initiatives that improved community health outcomes and reinforced infection control measures. Her ability to blend clinical expertise with healthcare leadership has made her a trusted advocate for both patients and providers.
Now, as she transitions into her new role as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Elise brings a unique combination of hands-on nursing experience, risk mitigation knowledge, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. With a focus on preventative health, patient education, and evidence-based practice, she is eager to empower her patients with the knowledge and care they need to achieve long-term well-being.
