Back in 2010, Dr. Howard graduated with her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She underwent residency training in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at Mayo Clinic in Arizona in 2015. She was honored as a Mayo Clinic Scholar and went on to complete her fellowship in advanced head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. She then completed a second fellowship at the same educational venue to further specialize in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. 

With an unwavering commitment to her speciality, the doctor is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. The non-profit organization serves the public by assuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.

Maintaining membership status with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Howard is a member of the American Medical Association, the Arizona Society of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Women’s Association, and the Association of Women Surgeons.
