Get to know Emergency Medicine Physician Dr. Brynn Karch, who provides care for a global population.

Dr. Karch completed his Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree majoring in Environmental Economics in 1983. He completed his Medical Degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 1991, giving him over two decades of experience practicing emergency medicine. After obtaining his medical degree he completed his internal medicine residency at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C. and an emergency medicine residency program at Albert Einstein/Jacobi Medical Center, the level I trauma center in the Bronx. . He went on to  complete a Master of Business Administration in Seattle Washington at the University of Washington – Michael G. Foster School of Business in 2005.

Dr. Karch is board certified in Emergency Medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. He is currently employed as the Chief Medical Officer of Remote Medical International (RMI) and is the CEO of  Larada International LLC. RMI provides an array medical support services to labor forces in remote and challenging environments throughout the world.

Previous to his current employment Dr. Karch was Chief of Critical Care Transport for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (CCAD) where he was on the team that opened and optimized emergency services for CCAD.  Prior to that he started Eastside Emergency Physicians in the Seattle Washington metropolitan area, teaming with Swedish Medical Center to open the first Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) West of the Mississippi, the 7th in the country, eventually opening three FSEDs and a hospital with Swedish Medical Center.

He has  expertise in medical services delivery in remote and challenging situations, Start-ups, Greenfield Hospital Projects, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Transport/EMS, and Medical Devices. When he is not working he enjoys doing outdoor activities.

Emergency Medicine is the branch of medicine concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. As first-line providers, emergency physicians manage patients of all ages with undifferentiated ailments of all types. They are primarily responsible for initiating resuscitation and stabilization and beginning investigations and interventions to diagnose and treat illnesses in the acute phase. Emergency physicians generally practice in hospital emergency departments, pre-hospital settings via emergency medical services, and intensive care units, but may also work in primary care settings such as urgent care clinics. Emergency physicians may subspecialize in disaster medicine, medical toxicology, ultrasonography, critical care medicine, hyperbaric medicine, sports medicine, palliative care, or aerospace medicine.
