Get to know Hematologist-Oncologist Dr. Camille Adeimy, who serves patients in Upland, California.

A professional in the fields of hematology and oncology, Dr. Adeimy is well-versed in all blood cancers and solid tumors. 

Caring for patients from prevention through survivorship, he works at City of Hope at the Upland facility. There, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor within the Department of Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research.

A firm believer that educating patients empowers them, Dr. Adeimy enjoys connecting with his patients, treating them with “compassion and dedication”, and serving as the “bridge between cutting-edge science and day-to-day patient care.”

He currently champions and offers oversight to the clinical research activity in Upland. In this leadership role, he works towards establishing/maintaining quality and robust clinical trial activities throughout the Upland site.

Educated in Lebanon, Dr. Adeimy received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He continued his training in the United States at St. Louis University School of Medicine and Loyola University School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. He also earned a Master’s degree in Medical Management at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, and completed the Intensive Course in Genomic Cancer Risk Assessment at City of Hope. These acquired skills allow him to integrate cancer genetics and oncology knowledge into clinical practice and recommend risk-appropriate options for cancer screening and prevention.

Bridging innovative science with compassionate patient care, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Among Dr. Adeimy’s professional affiliations include the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Association for Physician Leadership.

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of cancer, malignant blood diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, and blood disorders such as iron-deficiency anemia, clotting abnormalities, hemophilia, and sickle-cell disease.
