Deidre graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in 2001 from Pace University. She then focused her career in Nursing and graduated with her Associates of Science in Nursing from Cochran School of Nursing in 2005, giving her over a decades worth of experience in her field. Wanting to further her education she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy College and a Master of Science in Nursing from Pace University in 2013.

To stay up to date in her field Deidre remains a professional member of the NY State Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She currently practices as a Cardiac Nurse with the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and is affiliated with St. Johns Riverside Hospital and White Plains Hospital where she holds an expertise in Cardiology and Medical/Surgical nursing. When not working, Deidre enjoys reading and traveling.

Cardiac care nurses treat and care for patients with a variety of heart diseases or conditions. This can include patients suffering from coronary artery disease or congestive heart failure, or those recovering from angioplasty or bypass surgery. Cardiac care nurses monitor the hearts of patients of all ages, and may help administer heart medications and perform stress test evaluations on a regular basis, or take care of more urgent heart issues, such as assisting in defibrillation. This type of nurse works closely with a cardiologist to expedite quality care for heart patients.
