Dr. Anchilla is an anesthesiologist serving Orlando and the surrounding communities. Dr. Anchilla earned his Medical Degree (MD) at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1992. After that, he went on to complete and internship in pediatrics at Orlando Regional Healthcare System in 1993, and a residency and fellowship in anesthesiology/critical care and pediatric anesthesiology in 1999.
Dr. Anchilla is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). The ABA is the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. The Board administers primary and subspecialty certification exams as well as the Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology™ (MOCA®) program, which is designed to promote lifelong learning, a commitment to quality clinical outcomes and patient safety. Based in Raleigh, N.C., the ABA is a nonprofit organization and a member of the board of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. As a pediatric anesthesiologist, Dr. Anchilla treats children who have experienced an illness, injury, or disease that requires surgery or a procedure. He is qualified to evaluate complex problems and plan a safe anesthetic for each child. Through special training and experience, pediatric anesthesiologists provide the safest care for infants and children undergoing anesthesia.
With over 15 years of experience in the field, Dr. Anchilla has treated thousands of children and helped thousands of families. He is currently the department chair of the department of anesthesiology at Nemours Children’s Health System.
