Dr. Li is a physiatrist practicing out of Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She currently works as an inpatient consultant and Medical Director of outpatient neurorehabilitation services at the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center. She specializes in caring for patients with stroke, acquired brain injury, post-COVID, and other neurological conditions with subsequent rehabilitation needs. She is also an adjoint professor in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Health San Antonio. In addition to being a passionate educator for residents, Dr. Li has also been a guest lecturer for many events such as the TexMed 2021 Conference, Brooke Army Medical Center Lunch and Learn Primary Care Webinar Series, and the VA regional Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Conference. 

The San Antonio Polytrauma System of Care is one of five Polytrauma Rehabilitation Centers in the country providing state-of-the-art, specialized rehabilitation services for veterans and active duty service members. They provide an integrated network of comprehensive rehabilitation and support services for patients with TBI, stroke and severe injuries involving multiple body parts (i.e. polytrauma) as a result of blast-related events, motor vehicle collisions and other trauma. Services span the continuum of care from inpatient, transitional rehabilitation to outpatient while providing an interdisciplinary approach to care, cutting edge rehabilitation equipment, psychosocial support, family education and training, case management, and access to prosthetic/orthotic technologies. 

Regarding her educational background, Dr. Li graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and cell biology in 2007 from University of California, Berkeley. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2013 and was inducted into the Marvin G. Forland Gold Humanism Society in 2012. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2017.

After the completion of residency, Dr. Li attained board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Dr. Li looks forward to continuing expansion efforts for neurorehabilitation services at the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center and serving the veteran population.
