Get to know Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Carolyn F. Denney, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

Named a Top Doctor by Florida Magazine, Dr. Denney is a fellowship-trained infectious disease specialist with interests in travel medicine and preventive care. She is affiliated with Memorial Healthcare System, seeing patients at Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Memorial Hospital West, and Memorial Regional Hospital.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Denney graduated with her medical degree from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in 1993. She then went on to complete her internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 1994 and 1996, respectively. This was followed by a fellowship at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in 1998.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), she is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Society of Microbiology, and the American Medical Association.

Infectious disease is a medical specialty dealing with prevention, the diagnosis, and treatment of infections. An infectious disease specialist’s practice also consists of managing nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections.
