Get to know Registered Nurse, Cathy M. Ferrelli, who serves patients in Erie, Pennsylvania
An experienced registered nurse, Cathy has been a medical case manager at Presque Isle Rehabilitation Services, LLC (PIRS) since March, 2018. With over 30 years years of nursing experience, and 16 in the workers’ compensation field, she covers cases mostly in southwest Pennsylvania and occasionally the eastern portion.
She has loved working with PIRS and appreciates the staff and management support. She also very much enjoys the work she does. “It is gratifying to be able to assist injured workers with their recovery/RTW and also facilitate a good outcome for the carrier/insured when possible” expressed Cathy.
Before embarking on her professional journey, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Carlow College in 1987. She is a professional member of the American Nurses Association.
A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
On a more personal note, Cathy attributes her success to her passion for helping others as well as her love of people.
