He completed an internship in internal medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York in 1999, and a residency in ophthalmology at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York in 2002.
Thereafter, he advanced his training with a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the renowned New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College, where he studied with leaders and innovators of modern vitreoretinal surgery. He held a research fellowship in cell biology and neuroscience at the New York University School of Medicine. In addition, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society and elected as an Associate Member of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
