Cheyenne is a registered nurse who, through her bedside manner and compassion for others, strives to make a difference in the lives of her patients. Currently, she is affiliated with Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon. 

Founded in 1896, Salem Hospital is a non-profit, regional medical center that has 454 beds. A Level II trauma center, the community hospital is the largest private employer in Salem and the only hospital in the city. Salem Hospital is one of five Magnet designated hospitals in Oregon.

When asked why she chose a career in nursing, Cheyenne stated that it was because of her father, who went through a tragic accident that hospitalized him for quite some time. She was determined to learn more about the human body and its function, especially after all of her father’s major surgeries.

In 2018, she earned her nursing degree from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. As soon as she graduated, she went on to complete a New Grad RN Critical Care Residency Program at her current place of work. She attributes her success to her grandparents, mother, brother, and roommates through college.

In order to stay up to date in her field, Cheyenne remains a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, which is the second-largest nursing organization in the world with approximately 135,000 active members. 

A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
