Throughout her academic career, Dr. Morganti obtained her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 1992. After a year of research at Tufts University in Boston, she went on to perform her internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at SUNY.
During her residency, she studied strength training and aging and its effects on bone density, muscles, and balance. Research projects and presentations during residency included: “A Survey of Master Runners”; “Effects of Gymnastics Activity on Bone Density in Prepubescent Girls” ; “Soft Tissue Metastases”; and “Return to Play and Cervical Spine Injury.”
After completing a fellowship in sports medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore in July of 1999, Dr. Morganti began her private practice career in September that same year.
Holding herself to a high level of excellence, she is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
The doctor’s memberships include the American academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, National Osteoporosis Foundation, Sports Medicine Specialist Society for Women, International Institute of Running Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Association.

A decorated runner, Dr. Morganti provided physician coverage for the Senior Games track and field events in New York in 1995. She is herself a gold medalist, having won the 5000m at the Empire State Games in 1992, and also a silver medalist for the 5000m two years later in 1994. Other running honors include 1st place at the Corporate Challenge events in Syracuse (1992, 1994, and 1995) and the Syracuse Chargers Outstanding Distance Runner Award (1990, 1992, 1994, and 1995). She is also the team doctor for the U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon.
