Licensed to practice medicine in California, Dr. Ekstrand is affiliated with Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and Providence Saint John’s Health Center. Since 2000, she has been serving as a Clinical Instructor at the University California, Los Angeles.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the California Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Women’s Association, and the American Medical Association.

A 1995 graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, Dr. Ekstrand decided to further her training after graduation. She completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Recognized as an expert in her field, she is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). To ensure safe, ethical, and effective practice of orthopedic surgery, the ABOS maintains the highest standards for education, practice, and conduct through examination, certification, and maintenance of certification for the benefit of the public.
