She graduated with her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 1981, and went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Wilmington Medical Center for the first 2 years and at Baylor College of Medicine for the last 2 years.
Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
On a more personal note, Dr. Maynard spends much time on the Eastern Shore, walking and trying to capture the art of sailing.
