Dr. Perry is an osteopathic physician specializing in emergency medicine, pilot in the US Navy, and flight surgeon.

Working at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, he is a voting representative to the Naval Hospital Quality Improvement subcommittee. He is also a founding member of the Informatics Steering committee charged with the transition to an updated enterprise-wide electronic health record. 

In April of 2020, he was deployed to New York City for “Operation Gotham” Covid-19 Response aboard the hospital ship USNS Comfort.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Perry graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in History from US Naval Academy in 1999. He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Psychology from Walden University in 2006, and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012.

Furthering his training, he performed his internship and residency in emergency medicine at Naval Medical Center (Portsmouth) in 2013 and 2019, respectively. 

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified doctors who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of acutely ill patients with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and the management of other life-threatening medical issues (emergency physicians).

Holding academic titles, Dr. Perry serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Uniformed Services University, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine.

On a professional level, he is a member of the Wilderness Medical Society, the Aerospace Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons.

With licenses to practice medicine in Florida, Texas, and Virginia, Dr. Perry is a proven leader with over 20 years of driving organizational strategy and innovation through building, motivating, and focusing teams. 

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.

Among Dr. Perry’s various accolades include Flight Surgeon of the Year, Commander, US Naval Air Forces Atlantic (2015); Command Intern of the Year, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA (2012-2013); and Transitional Intern of the Year, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, (2012-2013).
