Get to know Family Nurse Practitioner, Christy S. Lingnofski, who serves patients in Shawano, Wisconsin.

Christy is a certified family nurse practitioner & respected registered nurse with extensive experience in dermatology and long-term care, making notable improvements to both patient and staff experiences. 

Currently, she offers a wide range of health care services to patients of all ages at ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano in Wisconsin.

Throughout her academic career, Christy graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Fox Valley Technical College in 2014. She then went on to earn both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and her Master of Science in Nursing degree (Family Nurse Practitioner Program) from Marian University of Wisconsin, Fond du Lac in 2017 and 2022, respectively. 

Throughout her nursing career, Christy has worked in dermatology, serving as a registered nurse at Forefront Dermatology from October of 2012 until September of 2022. 

Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, she is a professional member of the American Nurses Association and the Wisconsin Nurses Association. She also holds certification in CPR, and has a special interest in mental health and women’s health issues. 

A Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) holds certification and provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. FNPs maintain patient records, perform physical exams, order or perform diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, as well as treat acute and chronic illnesses, conditions, and injuries that fall under primary care.

A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.

On a more personal note, Christy attributes her success to always wanting to help people, her hard work, and the support from her family.
