Get to know Nationally Certified Counselor and Workforce Strategist Clair G.L. Minson, who serves clients in Baltimore, Maryland
Clair Minson has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University and a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland.
Clair uses a client centered approach when working with clients with a focus on building rapport and trust while evaluating and assessing client needs. Clair also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt therapy when working with clients to address their most pressing challenges. Clair meets clients where they are and works with them to meet their identified goals.
Additionally, Clair is a Workforce Strategist for Associated Black Charities where she is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the organization’s workforce strategy and working with the leadership team to develop, design, and implement innovative workforce strategies that will help ABC achieve its mission. This includes oversight of the Volunteer Career Mentoring program, the Board Pipeline Professional Leadership Development training, implementing an incumbent worker strategy in the STEM sectors and bridging the gap between workforce and racial equity through a newly formed “Community of Practice” for workforce practitioners.
In Clair’s previous role, she was the Program Director for another non-profit organization in Baltimore where she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization, oversaw all training activities for staff and clients, provided one-on-one counseling services for individuals struggling with grief, loss, trauma, depression, or challenges due to unemployment, and supervised and guided a team of six direct service providers, as well as graduate-level counseling interns.
Clair is a natural born leader with a big heart who gets things done. Her dedication to the important work of changing lives through employment is one demonstration of this. She deeply cares for her clients and leaves no stone unturned to help talented people get back to work. Her work changes people’s lives and uplifts entire communities.
