A distinguished nursing professional with a robust background in renal services and hematology, Joan is a proud graduate of Bellevue University and has previously served as the Director of Renal Services at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.  Her wealth of experience and dedication to patient-centered care positions her to work with the Renal Services/Apheresis team effectively.

Prior to her retirement, Joan oversaw a talented group of healthcare providers, ensuring they received the support and resources necessary to deliver exceptional care to patients. Her leadership philosophy is centered on open and honest communication, which she believes is essential for understanding the needs of both staff and patients. “I attribute my success to the relationships I build with my team and the trust we cultivate with our patients,” Joan shared. “Every patient’s journey is unique, and it’s our responsibility to listen and respond to their individual needs.”

Joan is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (Northeast Tri-State Chapter), and the Renal Healthcare Association. Her commitment to advancing nursing practice is evident in her contributions to the field, including a recent publication in the Nephrology Nursing Journal, titled “Venous Needle Dislodgement and Access-Bloodline Separation,” co-authored with her colleagues. This work highlights her dedication to addressing critical issues in renal care.
