An advanced practice registered nurse & board-certified family nurse practitioner, Cristi is the Founder and Medical Director of The Derm Spa in Tooele, Utah. She specializes in dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, aesthetics, injectables, and skin care management.
Her personal journey started at a young age where she experienced childhood eczema and was later diagnosed with Lupus related skin complications. Understanding the necessity of healthy skin and the desire for a magnified, glowing appearance, she strives for up-to-date treatment options for her clients and their success.
Graduating with her Associate Degree in Nursing from Ameritech College of Healthcare in 2011, Cristi went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Westminster College in 2016, and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Maryville University in 2018.
Functioning as a registered nurse for over a decade provided her with a sound bedside manner and assisted her in being able to better relate to her clients and their health care needs. Cristi spent the beginning of her career with the Department of Veteran Affairs, focusing on Internal medicine, Oncology and Hospice/Palliative care. She spent her specialty care rotation for her advanced nurse practitioner degree in the aesthetic field with the industry’s top providers and continued her focus on skincare while functioning as medical director for Utah’s top medical spa facility until opening her own clinic, The Derm Spa.
A member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Cristi is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). The AANP credentials both organizations and individuals who advance nursing. Cristi’s primary specialty is Dermatology with an emphasis on Cosmetic treatments.
Moreover, she is certified in basic and advanced aesthetic injections, and continues to educate herself in skin topics and procedures. Her ability to focus on both aesthetic and medical needs provides a holistic approach to her patient focused care.
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a nurse who has obtained at least a master’s degree in nursing. APRNs may work across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, ambulatory clinics or long-term care facilities. They provide medical support and preventative care to patients, along with additional responsibilities of coordinating patient care and using specialized knowledge to manage complex patient conditions. APRNs can diagnose and treat as well as order and interpret tests and prescribe medications.
A Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) holds board certification and provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. A lifelong resident of Tooele County, Cristi enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three children.
