From Psychiatry to Chiropractic: Dr. Madock’s Journey to Transforming Lives

Dr. Daniel Madock, a distinguished chiropractor with over four decades of experience, has dedicated his life to providing holistic healthcare solutions that prioritize patient well-being. Graduating from the University of South Florida in 1976 and earning his chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1979, Dr. Madock’s journey into the field of chiropractic was fueled by a commitment to truly heal patients, rather than simply manage their symptoms.

Dr. Madock’s early career began at the Lutz Clinic, where he practiced alongside the inspiring Dr. E.H. Gaddis. Initially studying premed with aspirations of becoming a medical doctor specializing in psychiatry, Dr. Madock gained valuable insights into the limitations of conventional medical treatments. While working as a psychiatric technician, he observed firsthand the cycle of dependency on psychotropic medications, noting the significant side effects and lack of genuine recovery among patients. This critical observation ignited a passion within him to seek alternative approaches to healthcare.

“During my time in the psychiatric ward, I realized that the focus was on controlling symptoms rather than curing conditions,” said Dr. Madock. “I wanted to be part of a system that truly aimed to heal and restore health. That’s when I met Dr. Gaddis, whose approach to chiropractic care and patient treatment deeply resonated with me.”

Inspired by Dr. Gaddis’s holistic methods, Dr. Madock shifted his educational path to chiropractic, determined to provide patients with effective, non-invasive treatment options. His dedication led him to specialize in Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT) and Craniopathy, studying under Dr. Major Bertrand DeJarnette, the founder of these innovative practices. Dr. Madock quickly became a recognized authority, eventually serving as a certified instructor and earning the distinction of Certified Craniopath and Diplomat in Craniopathy.

Dr. Madock’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. In 2011, he was honored with the Medical Hero of the Year Award by the Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce and Pepin Heart Hospital at the Dr. Kirin Patel Research Institute. In 2015, he was voted Chiropractor of the Year by both the Sacral-Occipital Research Society and the International Craniopathy Society, cementing his reputation as a leader in the field.

Today, Dr. Madock continues to educate fellow chiropractors and healthcare professionals, promoting the benefits of SOT and Craniopathy as effective treatment modalities for a range of conditions. His practice prioritizes patient empowerment and recovery, providing a compassionate environment where individuals can experience the full potential of chiropractic care.

Dr. Madock’s journey from aspiring psychiatrist to a pioneer in chiropractic reflects his unwavering commitment to patient health and his belief in a holistic approach to well-being. As he continues to serve the community, Dr. Madock is dedicated to changing lives through chiropractic care, one patient at a time.
