Dr. David O. Childers Jr., MD, is a distinguished pediatrician renowned for his expertise in neurodevelopmental disabilities and developmental-behavioral pediatrics. He leads the esteemed teams at UF Health Developmental Pediatrics – Dupont Station, UF Health Center for Autism and Related Disabilities – Dupont Station, and Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Following his residency in pediatrics at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 1992 he served as a general pediatrician at Camp Lejeune, NC, followed by his fellowship in neurodevelopmental disabilities at Baylor College of Medicine in 1998, he achieved triple board certification in developmental-behavioral pediatrics and pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics; and his primary specialty, neurodevelopmental disabilities by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

A dedicated member of professional organizations such as the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Duval County Medical Society, Dr. Childers Jr. remains committed to advancing the standards of pediatric care and advocating for children with special needs.
