Dr. Shau is a dedicated orthopedic surgeon with a focus on reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee. He currently serves as a Fellowship Co-Director at Texas Hip and Knee Center & as a Physician Development Coach at the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University.

Committed to providing his patients with the latest techniques and approaches for hip and knee care, he offers technology-assisted surgeries, partial and total joint replacements, as well as same-day surgeries for appropriate candidates. He places a high priority on communication, teamwork, and perioperative care, with the goal of improving the quality of life for his patients and their loved ones.

All Texas Hip and Knee Center physicians are on the medical staff of Texas Health Harris Hospital Southwest. They primarily practice at Texas Health Clearfork, a part of Texas Health Southwest that is a premier destination for joint careĀ®, where they collectively perform more than 3,000 hip and knee replacements annually.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Shau was first exposed to orthopedics in high school following his own sports-related injuries. He gained further interest through his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was first introduced to biomechanics, material science, and healthcare technology, among many other related topics.

Thereafter, he continued his education at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he earned a dual MD/MBA degree. During his time at Vanderbilt, Dr. Shau was actively involved in orthopedic research and clinical participation, which earned him the Orthopaedic Clerkship Award. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Emory University and was selected to serve as administrative chief resident in his last year. Finally, he completed a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at the University of California, San Francisco.
