Dr. Bhela completed his undergraduate degree from the New York Institute of Technology majoring in pre-medical science and graduated Summa Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences in 2010. Furthering his education he graduated with his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2015, from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, an institution school that focused on studying the medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle problems. After obtaining his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree, he completed his Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency from the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, where he was named Chief Resident.
Dr. Bhela is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Board certification provides the assurance to both the public and health professionals that the highest level of achievement has been attained in the specialty area. It indicates that the podiatric physician has been judged by his peers to have demonstrated, via a rigorous examination process, a fund of knowledge and competence in the areas being tested. Additionally he is also Board Qualified in Foot surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and holds his license from the New York State Podiatry.
