Dr. Cerio is a co-founder of East Coast Advanced Plastic Surgery. ECAPS is not a group of surgeons built on a foundation of convenience, rather a harmonious team assembled by design. Dr. Cerio specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the entire body, with special expertise in breast cancer reconstruction. At ECAPS, Dr. Cerio provides all of his cosmetic patients and breast cancer survivors with a sense of wholeness and a new outlook on life.
Sharing his knowledge of the topic is important to him, having published 3 major textbook chapters, and 4 medical journal articles to date. Dean Cerio, M.D. has also presented his work at 11 local, regional, and national plastic surgery society meetings.
Dr. Cerio graduated with his Medical Degree from the St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2003, giving her over a decade of experience in his field. After obtaining his medical degree he completed his general surgery residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Furthering his training he completed his Plastic Surgery fellowship with the University Of Alabama Birmingham.
Dr. Cerio is dual certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. The American Board of Surgery is an independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1937 to provide board certification to individuals who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of surgery. The Mission of The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
